RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 500g potatoes, cut crosswise into slices
- 3/4 cup grated gouda cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Butter a baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
- Arrange a 1/3 of the potatoes, overlapping slightly, in the dish.
- Sprinkle with 1/3 cup cheese. Repeat with two more layers of potatoes, gouda cheese and crushed remaining butter.
- Combine cream, salt, pepper in a bowl. Pour over potatoes.
- Bake 20-30 minutes covered with baked foil.
- Remove foil and continue baking until potatoes are crispy and top is browned, 20 to 30 minutes.
