Crispy Gratin

RECIPE

Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons butter
• 500g potatoes, cut crosswise into slices
• 3/4 cup grated gouda cheese
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
2. Butter a baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter.
3. Arrange a 1/3 of the potatoes, overlapping slightly, in the dish.
4. Sprinkle with 1/3 cup cheese. Repeat with two more layers of potatoes, gouda cheese and crushed remaining butter.
5. Combine cream, salt, pepper in a bowl. Pour over potatoes.
6. Bake 20-30 minutes covered with baked foil.
7. Remove foil and continue baking until potatoes are crispy and top is browned, 20 to 30 minutes.
