PIE CRUST
Ingredients
- 300 g flour
- 150 g butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2-1 nutmeg powder
- 3 tablespoons ice water
Directions
- Sift the flours into a large bowl. Add the butter and water, salt and nutmeg.
- Mix all ingredients until they are combined and the dough forms a nice round ball. Wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes before rolling.
- Using a rolling pin flatten the dough quite thinly.
- Roll out dough, and put in a pie plate. Fill with desired filling and bake.
- Bake at 180 C until golden brown.
TOPPING
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- broccoli florets, cut small
- 150g cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Directions:
- Steam broccoli 3 to 4 minutes. Pat dry. Scatter broccoli over cooked pie crust.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in cream, eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour cheese mixture over broccoli. Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese.
- Bake until set, 35 minutes or until browned and filling is set.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
